Minutes of 10th June 2026

Minutes of the previous meeting held on the Wednesday April 2026 

 

Matters Arising : shrubbery at Glenbranter bus stops blocking sight lines

 

Councillor Update: Councillor had met with FLS at Pucks Glen to see what was happening as a lot of residents are concerned about when or if it will reopen, ABC Council officer will liaise with the Community Council re 20mph zones in our CC area

 

Police Report: Between 15/04/2026 and 09/06/2026 there was 12 incidents and 06 crime reports 1 detected parking HGV on pavement,1 detected speeding , 1 detected  failing to comply with traffic lights, 1 detected failing to report accident, I detected no MOT, 1 undetected threatening and abusive behaviour. Police Scotland are holding an Emergency Service Partners day partners in Strachur on Saturday the 13th of June all welcome.  

 

Health Report: The provision of CTAC Services was discussed as having to go to Cowal Community Hospital is no possible for a lot of patients, Kirstie checked with bot West Cost Motors West Go service (formally pingo and dial a Bus and they only go as far as the Creggans Inn and Midletters and InterlochTransport do the same this leave a large number of patients unable to access basic health care, she has raised this with the ABS HSPC officers and asked them to look at this as a matter of urgency. Kirstie will share the reply when she is able to do so.

Elections will take place on Thursday 20th August. If you want to keep and Community Council membership n the area we urge you to stand for election

Treasurers Report:: there is a balance of £2456.72

 

Transport Update: next Cowal Transport Forum takes place via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday the 30th June 2026.

 

Argyll Rally 2026 Update: everything is in place for this years Rally

 

National Park Report: nothing to report

 

AOCB; A member of the public asked if we could write to the Strachur Mooring Association and ask what safety work they have carried out to ensure that no boats could break free from the moorings and damage the electricity lines, as last winter when the yacht broke free and was beached and snapped the power lines this caused  the power to be  off for three days and nights, which resulted in the residents loosing a lot of food etc.

Manse Gardens Kirstie has spoken to Trust Housing and it is hoped that the residents will move back in at the end of June and the other 11 properties will be available for rent
